You can choose from among Consumer-Driven and High Deductible plans that offer catastrophic risk protection with higher deductibles, health savings/reimbursable accounts and lower premiums, or Fee-for-Service (FFS) plans, and their Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO), or Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) if you live (or sometimes if you work) within the area serviced by the plan.
With FEHB, you can get comprehensive health insurance coverage for you, your spouse, and your children under age 26.
There are no waiting periods and no restrictions on pre-existing conditions. All plans offer preventative services at no cost when received from a Preferred Provider. This includes childhood immunizations, screenings for cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure, and tobacco cessation services and medications.
